The company had a lot of information about themselves stashed between a multitude of platforms across their online ecosystem. They were looking to build a centralized resource to more effectively hold their publishings. The newsroom was the prime spot to do this.
As the visual designer of the team, I owned the exploration of the platform redesign leveraging the present design system to rapidly deliver high fidelity mock-ups as they corresponded with the content outline provided by the client.
Additionally, I collaborated with the Creative Director and Design lead to ideate on a net new component to implement in the newsrooms transformation and provided recommendations on updating their search experience.
Collaborated with the stakeholders and team to understand their content strategy, areas of inspiration, and leveraged the design system that our team owned to perform rapid prototyping of site explorations that aligned with CMS* rendering.
Additionally explored new hero componentry to improve accessibility to latest stories and investigated the performance of search to update those designs for improved UX.
Assisted development in production environments during QA phases to visually sharpen designs utilizing their CMS*.

A stronger storytelling platform that better directs users to topical and timely publications related to Snapchat.
What was once pure feed of articles is now a sorted display of the values Snapchat brings to the world while also offering gateways to go deeper into learning about the different dimensions of the brand.
